QuickBooks Connect – A Guide for the Virtual Bookkeeper

On Nov 2nd – 4th 2015, thousands of entrepreneurs, small businesses, bookkeepers, and accountants from around North America are coming together under one roof in San Jose, California, to connect, learn and grow. This session is packed with resources and tips that will allow for your firm to achieve professional greatness. Michelle Long, CPA and owner of Long for Success, will discuss her 5P’s to professional greatness, including Planning, People, Processes, Product, and Pricing. During the session, Michelle will also prompt the audience to participate with their own experiences and questions which always makes for an interesting and thought-provoking session

A Conversation with Eric Ries: Going Lean and Growing Your Business
(Tuesday @1:45pm)

This session, targeted more towards small business owners, will offer some insightful tips for bookkeepers and accountants with regards to the challenges and successes of bringing a seed of an idea to life. Eric Ries is an author and a Silicon Valley entrepreneur recognized for pioneering the lean start-up movement; a business strategy which pushes start-up companies to allocate their resources as efficiently as possible.

Five Stages of Cloud Adoption Grief
(Tuesday @ 1:45)

An underlying topic throughout many of the sessions at QuickBooks Connect is moving to the cloud, and ways to make this process as simple as possible for bookkeepers and accountants, as well as their clients. In this session, Leslie Shiner, author, speaker, and owner of ShinerGroup, discusses the 5 stages of cloud adoption grief and discusses some strategies to overcome client objections and simplify the process of moving to a virtual practice.
